... Ottawa, Ontario ... August 15, 2011 President Hu Jintao of the People's Republic of China c/o Ambassador H.E. Zhang Junsai 515 St. Patrick Street, Ottawa, Ont. K1N 5H3 Dear President Jintao, I apologize from the outset for what I am about to ask, but if you believe in the rule of law – which I hope you do, because if you don’t, then this letter is pointless – you will consider my petition. My Prime Minister is expected to pay a return visit to China this fall. Canada often points out the straw in the eyes of others while ignoring the log blurring its vision. When you meet with the Right Honourable Stephen Harper would you mention the log, and my quest for justice which is now in its third decade? If you believe in the rule of law, and that a person is entitled to “due process” before they are deprived of their lives, liberty or livelihood you will not see my request as unreasonable. A long time ago, I was falsely accused of insubordination and denied due process because a government appointed “judge” was concerned about his career, and my livelihood was taken away. It’s in the book Shooting the Messenger which I have enclosed. My first person account of a massive fraud and the betrayal of the public trust at the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs is, by necessity, a self-published book. No Canadian publisher, or the Canadian media for that matter, dare challenge the fiction of a competent, ethical Canadian Foreign Service. Even if you mention the “log” to my Prime Minister he may not be able, or willing to do anything about it, but it may serve as a timely reminder that it is better and more genuine to lead by example. I would like to end my letter by saying I will be grateful, but I cannot, for that might be misinterpreted as my not putting the interest of my country first and foremost, but I will end it with the traditional: Sincerely Yours
